Africans all over the world have contributed tremendously to their countries and we know that they also help facilitate different projects in the countries they find themselves.
Africans keep migrating for greener pastures and we have seen how they have planted themselves in the fibre of all sectors of the economy from transportation, media, education, academia, health, retail, manufacturing, entertainment etc.
In the words of Malcolm X, “We didn’t want anybody telling us anything about Africa, much less calling us Africans. In hating Africa and in hating the Africans, we ended up hating ourselves, without even realizing it. Because you can’t hate the roots of a tree and not hate the tree. You can’t hate your origin and not end up hating yourself. You can’t hate Africa and not hate yourself.”
Adara Awards is powered by DS Dexterity International; a media and entertainment services provider with Adara Ventures. The awards are meant to recognize Africans for their contribution in various sectors and building social cohesion amongst Africans within the continent and abroad.
The awards aim to promote Africa through tourism and highlight the African countries where the nominees and winners come from, in an effort to put Africa where it belongs – in the global map.
The awards contribute to telling the positive story about Africans and mitigate the negative reports that overshadow their contribution in the development of Africa and the communities they reside within.
